Who We Are

The Positively Kids team consists of several dedicated professionals, each with their own area of expertise as well as personal experiences. Positively Kids also has approximately 40 licensed staff members. The pediatric staff consists of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses (RN's), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA'S), plus Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists who assist the children in our programs every day.

Each staff member is chosen for their ability, energy and enthusiasm to develop and maintain our current and future pediatric programs. The Positively Kids' staff is among the best educated and professional in the state. Their vitality, commitment and shared purpose offer a work environment noted for its teamwork, respect and kindness to one another, and to the children and families we serve.

Fred Schultz, Chief Executive Officer

Positively Kids' Founder and CEO, Fred Schultz has been a lifelong activist for medically fragile children. But it wasn't until moving to Las Vegas in 1995 that Fred found his calling. Shocked by the lack of both state and private resources available to Nevada's medically dependent children, Fred had a vision to make a difference in the lives of these kids and their families. In December of 1999, that vision became a reality with the creation of the Foundation for Positively Kids. Named In Business' "2007 Non-Profit of the Year", Positively Kids is the first and only non-profit organization in Las Vegas whose sole mission is to serve our community's medically fragile children.

With over 35 years experience in health care management, Fred has directed the financial, marketing and board capacity building activities for numerous healthcare organizations. He began his career in Michigan as Director of Respiratory Therapy at Bi-County Hospital. In 1974, Fred relocated to Florida, where he assumed the Directorship at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in West Palm Beach, and later, the start-up of the Pulmonary Care Department of Community Hospital of the Palm Beach, a 250-bed acute care hospital. He also served as a Respiratory Care Program instructor for a private school in Ft. Lauderdale and, after receiving his Physician's Assistant Certification, went on to manage various private clinics and physician practices. In 1995, Fred relocated to Las Vegas to assume the position of CEO for Total Home Care, a Home Health Medical Equipment and Home Infusion Company. As Executive Director of Safe Harbor Hospice, he also supervised the construction of "Harbor House", a 24-bed inpatient facility -- one of only two such facilities in Clark County.

Fred is a past member of the Florida Lung Association's State Advisory Board, and served as President of the American Lung Association of Southeast Florida for 6 years. He currently sits on the board of Toro University Occupational Therapy School, and is a guest lecturer at UNLV. He also serves on the State Committees for both the National Covering Kids and Families Network and the Child Welfare Network, and is President and Chairman of the Nevada Association of Non-Profit Organizations.

Fred's passion is to make a difference in the life of every medically fragile child in Las Vegas. To this end, he is eagerly embracing his next challenge - to embark on a Capital Campaign to build Nevada's first Skilled Pediatric Facility on land provided by the City of Henderson.
